That’s Amore! 14 Valentine’s Day Restaurants in the Conejo Valley and Beyond

An Italian Restaurant for Everyone!

I’ve put together a list of Italian restaurants that serve lunch, dinner or dessert.

Not everyone is a dinner person. I for one prefer going out to lunch, and maybe you’re that sort of person, too.

As for the rest of you, some people have little ones who don’t do well in a formal dinner setting. Others have school-aged children who face homework demands and have to get up early for school the next day.

Some prefer to order only dessert to go and create a romantic home-cooked meal for the main course.

Whatever your preference, there’s something here for everybody!

Carrara’s Pastries

2 locations:  28914 Roadside Dr #107, Agoura Hills, CA 91301 and 144 Los Angeles Ave Ste 107B, Moorpark, CA 93021
(The Moorpark location has been remodeled and expanded and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.)

The pastries are spectacular whether you choose dine in (with a cup of coffee) or order a box of pastries to go. I especially love the bite-sized ones (one or two bites).

Be sure to try the  Frittelle, a ball-shaped, donut-like, sugar-coated pastry with unbelievable Chantilly cream filling (DO NOT miss this one!). Rum Baba, Cannoli and mini-cheesecakes are also favorites. And don’t forget the gelato!

Topper’s Pizza

There are 3 locations (Thousand Oaks, Santa Clarita and Oxnard). I first tasted their pizza in Santa Clarita, but fortunately we also have one here in the Conejo Valley off Moorpark Rd. and Janss.

Cafe Firenze

563 West Los Angeles Ave., Moorpark, CA 93021

I love their tapas menu. They also have cooking classes!

Italia Deli & Bakery

5657 Kanan Rd., Agoura Hills, CA 91301  (next to Von’s)

Great sandwiches to take to a romantic picnic in the park. They bake their rolls fresh daily, and the sandwiches with Boar’s Head deli meats are delicious. Don’t miss the pastries and salads.

Tuscany Ristorante

Tuscany is the sister restaurant to Rustico in Westlake Village.

Fresh Brothers Pizza

180 Promenade Way, Westlake Village, CA 91362

I recently tried their pizza while listening to summer outdoor concerts by the outside Promenade fountain. If you have little tikes or youngsters in school and can’t get out for dinner alone, then grab a pizza and celebrate the love with the whole family!

Barone’s Pizzeria

30990 Russell Ranch Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91362

I first tried their famous square pizza years ago, in the North Hollywood area. I immediately recognized the name when I saw it again in Woodland Hills and then again here in Westlake Village. It’s located right next to Cici’s and Aroha.

When you walk in the front door, you see printed on their pizza boxes that they’ve been around since 1945.

In case shape matters, on Valentine’s Day they also have heart-shaped pizzas.

Dine in or get it to go, they also have delicious salads and pasta.

Wrap Up

These are just 14 possible choices among many Italian restaurants in our Greater Conejo Valley area. They are good all year round, so if you miss them on Valentine’s Day, save them for another time.

Enjoy your dining adventure!
