Take a Christmas lights driving tour!
UPDATED FOR 2021
One of my favorite memories when my children were little was driving them around to see the Christmas light displays. And although they are all grown up, I still love driving to see the lights!
Simi Valley, off Erringer, north of Alamo
If you set aside some time to drive around, it’ll put some holiday cheer into your life. With these short days, you’ll be able to get out in the early evening just after 6:00 PM to see the bright lights.
Nope, you’re not late to the party. People keep their lights up until at least New Year’s day, and typically until the Orthodox Christmas on January 6. So no excuses for not taking a drive.
So bundle up, hop in your car, and cruise the nearby neighborhoods where homeowners have decked out their front yards and turned them into holiday wonderlands. You’ll love these awesome sparkling light displays!
The Driving Tour Maps: Ventura County and Simi Valley (Christmas Lights on Google Maps)
What you’ll find is that some marked locations have just one spectacularly decorated house. Others have entire streets all done up in Christmas cheer.
You’ll also find Christmas lights to music. Many music-themed light displays let you tune in using your car radio, so keep a look out for signs that point you to the exact radio station.
So get ready to use these Google Maps links for your driving tour. The good thing about mapping them this way is that you can see precisely where you are as you drive (especially in an unfamiliar area, so you don’t get lost).
